Our Governing council consists of visionaries from the education background who are guiding and shaping the future of our country and have already made us proud with their achievements. The Governing Council serves as the chief academic policy advisory body in matters relating to academics, curriculum revision and development, academic program planning, faculty personnel matters, academic standards, the graduate program, research & assessment in the areas of Logistics & aviation. The Governing Council ensures that Quality is an integral part of our course curriculum which helps develop students into professionals.

Powers and duties of the Governing council:

The Governing council shall be the principal executive body of ILAM and shall; in addition to powers vested in it have the following powers namely:

  • To create teaching and academic posts, to determine number, qualifications and cadres thereof as approved by the University Grants Commission.
  • To appoint such Professors, Associate Professors, (Readers,) Asstt. Professors (Lecturers) and other academic staff as may be necessary.
  • To lay down the duties and conditions of service of the Professors, Associate Professors, Asstt. Professors and other academic staff in consultation with the Academic committee.
  • To provide for appointment of Visiting Fellows and Visiting Professors.
  • To create administrative, ministerial and other necessary posts in terms of the cadres laid down or otherwise and to make appointment thereof in consultation with the Finance Committee.
  • To entertain and adjudicate upon and, if thought fit, to redress any grievances of the employees and students of ILAM.
  • To prescribe and receive fees and other charges.
  • To appoint such committees for such purpose and with such powers as the Board of Management may think fit and to co-opt such persons on these committees as it thinks fit.
  • To establish, on the advice of the Academic Council, Divisions and Departments for the academic work and functions of ILAM and to allocate areas of Study, Teaching and Research to them.
